We made it!

Had to move to a different terminal with my gear. It was 2 km away!

The famous Hg photographer Jeff O'Brien.

Bondi Beach.

Great guy!

And so did all of our gear. After one of the longer days in my life we have arrived in Oz. I left Calgary Friday morning @ 10:30 and after 3 airports and roughly 8000 miles I am now sitting in an internet cafe at Bondi beach. It is a muggy 25c here wich is quite the change from where I was 33 hrs ago. We are going to "the Rocks" tonight to catch the fire works, in the mean time we are going to chill find a place to crash and clean up. I am stoked to be here with two good friends that love hang gliding as much as I do and am looking forward to seeing a bunch of old friends tomorrow. The last pic is the guy that helped Bernard and I to get our gliders on the plane when we went to Texas after we were told NO 4 times, THANX DUDE. It was good to see him again.
P.S. westjet rocks! The Jeffs paid $200 to get there gliders to LA and Westjet only charged me $42 Can.

Packing sucks!

When you travel on a plane you are only allowed 3 pieces of luggage. I am going to Australia for 3 weeks, I have 1 hang glider and 1 harness, that leaves me with only 1 carry-on to put 3 weeks of clothes into. I am apologizing to everyone in advance for I will be wearing the same pair of shorts in every picture (ick). I have been obsessing this time about what to bring this trip compared to others. I keep trying to remind myself that it is just another hang gliding comp and trying to forget that it is on the other side of the planet. But now that I have every available inch stuffed there seems to be a theme. All of my gear resembles a fat person wearing spandex. So me and the fat ladies will be getting on the plane tommorow and heading to a much warmer place. ( my place today after a nice little storm last night.
